§ 131-j. Certain utility deposits. Any inconsistent provision of\nthis chapter or other law notwithstanding, a public assistance recipient\nshall not be required by any corporation subject to the provisions of\narticle four of the public service law to pay a security deposit as a\ncondition of receiving any utility service provided by such utility\ncompany. This section shall apply to recipients of supplemental\nsecurity income benefits or additional state payments, as defined in\nsection three hundred of this chapter, and such persons shall be deemed\npublic assistance recipients for the purposes of this section.\n
