§ 197 — Effect of federal legislation

§ 197. Effect of federal legislation. If the United States congress\nenacts legislation providing compensation in the event of a discharge of\npetroleum, the commissioner shall determine to what degree that\nlegislation provides the needed protection for our citizens, businesses\nand environment and shall make the appropriate recommendations to the\nlegislature for amendments to this article.\n
