§ 17 — Traveling navigation inspectors

§ 17. Traveling navigation inspectors. The commissioner may appoint\nnot to exceed three traveling navigation inspectors whose qualifications\nshall include a full knowledge of the navigation law and regulations\nestablished thereunder and a practical experience in the navigation of\nvessels. Such inspectors shall be employed for such periods of the year\nand at such rates of pay as the commissioner may deem necessary, and\nshall have the power to issue a uniform navigation summons and/or\ncomplaint for violations of the provisions of article four of this\nchapter which are applicable to vessels.\n
