§ 301. Jury to determine necessity and assess damages. The town\nsuperintendent to whom the application shall be made shall appoint as\nearly a day as the convenience of the parties interested will allow,\nwhen, at a place designated in the town, a jury will be selected for the\npurpose of determining upon the necessity of such road, and to assess\nthe damages by reason of the opening thereof.\n
