§ 77. Leases of public buildings to posts of veteran organizations,\norganizations of volunteer firefighters, and child care agencies. 1. A\nmunicipal corporation may lease, for not exceeding five years, to a post\nor posts of the Grand Army of the Republic, Veterans of Foreign Wars of\nthe United States, American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, Inc.,\nDisabled American Veterans, the Army and Navy Union, U.S.A., Marine\nCorps League, AMVETS, American Veterans of World War II, Jewish War\nVeterans of the United States, Inc., Italian American War Veterans of\nthe United States, Incorporated, Masonic War Veterans of the State of\nNew York, Inc., Veterans of World War I of the United States of America\nDepartment of New York, Inc., Polish-American Veterans of World War II,\nAmsterdam, N.Y., Inc., Polish-American Veterans of World War II,\nSchenectady, N.Y., Inc., Polish Legion of American Veterans, Inc.,\nVietnam Veterans of America or other veteran organization of members of\nthe uniformed services of the United States who (a) were honorably\ndischarged from such service or (b) have a qualifying condition, as\ndefined in section one of the veterans' services law, and received a\ndischarge other than bad conduct or dishonorable from such service, or\n(c) are discharged LGBT veterans, as defined in section one of the\nveterans' services law, and received a discharge other than bad conduct\nor dishonorable from such service, or to an incorporated organization or\nan association of either active or exempt volunteer firefighters, a\npublic building or part thereof, belonging to such municipal\ncorporation, except schoolhouses in actual use as such, without expense,\nor at a nominal rent, fixed by the board or council having charge of\nsuch buildings and provide furniture and furnishings, and heat, light\nand janitor service therefor, in like manner.\n 2. A municipal corporation may lease to a non-profit corporation\norganized under the laws of the state of New York which is authorized to\ncare for children and which is subject to the visitation, inspection and\nsupervision of the state board of social services a public building or\npart thereof belonging to such municipal corporation, without expense or\nat a nominal rent, fixed by the board or council having charge of such\nbuildings, and provide furniture and furnishings and heat, light and\njanitor service therefor, in like manner.\n
