§ 622. Office of victim services. There is hereby created in the\nexecutive department the office of victim services, hereinafter in this\narticle referred to as the "office". The office shall be headed by a\ndirector, who shall be appointed by the governor for a term of three\nyears. The director shall coordinate and recommend policy relating to\nthe provision of services to crime victims. The director shall appoint\nstaff and perform such other functions to ensure the efficient operation\nof the office within the amounts made available therefor by\nappropriation.\n
