§ 71-1937. Jurisdiction of courts in criminal cases.\n County courts shall have, in the first instance, jurisdiction of\nfelonies committed under titles 1 through 11 inclusive and title 19 of\narticle 17 and sections 71-1929 through 71-1939 of this article. Subject\nto the power of removal provided in the Criminal Procedure Law, police\ncourts shall have, in the first instance, concurrent jurisdiction of\nmisdemeanors committed under titles 1 through 11 inclusive and title 19\nof article 17 and sections 71-1929 through 71-1939 of this article. An\naction before a justice of the peace shall be brought in the town in\nwhich the offense was committed or an adjoining town and an action\nbefore a county court shall be brought in the county in which the\noffense was committed.
