§ 33-0714. Water quality monitoring for pesticides.\n The department, in coordination with the United States Geological\nSurvey National Water Quality Assessment Program, the New York State\nWater Resources Institute, and other parties, shall conduct a water\nquality monitoring program to provide an adequate understanding of the\nhealth and environmental impacts of pesticide use in the state. The\ndepartment shall utilize this program, as it deems necessary, in: making\npesticide registration decisions; reviewing suspensions and\ncancellations of pesticide registrations in the state; and assessing the\nstatus, trends, and health impacts of any pesticide contamination of\nground and surface waters on Long Island and throughout the state.\n
