6.Notwithstanding any provision of P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.) to the contrary, the commissioner may designate an appropriate officer of the department to serve as the final decision maker in any contested case or group of contested cases filed with the Office of Administrative Law. The designation shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Office of Administrative Law. The designation shall remain in effect until amended by the commissioner. L.2006, c.47, s.6.
