§ 9:3A-5 — Commissioner of Children and Families.

a.The head and chief administrative officer of the department shall be the Commissioner of Children and Families. The commissioner shall be a person qualified by training and experience to perform the duties of his office. The commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor during the Governor's term of office and until the appointment and qualification of the commissioner's successor. He shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law and shall devote his entire time and attention to the duties of the office and shall not engage in any other profession or occupation.
