6.The board shall be vested with the following powers and duties: a. It shall be the duty of the board to recommend and consent to examination questions, review applications to ascertain the experience and qualifications of persons applying for a license, review examination results, review continuing education certification required for license renewals pursuant to section 7 of P.L.1947, c.377 (C.58:4A-11) and recommend to the department when licenses should be issued, renewed, or denied. A board recommendation that a license be issued or denied shall be adopted at the next scheduled meeting following completion of the examination therefor.
