The commissioner or any employee of the State Tax Department by him thereunto designated shall have the power by subpoena, signed by the commissioner and served in the same manner as like process in civil actions in the Supreme Court, to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of any books, records, papers, vouchers, accounts or documents of any retail dealer at any hearing held pursuant to the provisions of this act. The fees of witnesses required to attend any such hearing shall be the same as those allowed to witnesses appearing in the Supreme Court. Such fees shall be paid in the manner provided for the payment of other expenses incident to the administration of this act. L.1938, c. 163, p. 370, art. V, s. 504.
