§ 55:19-38 — Prevailing wages

New Jersey·Title 55 TENEMENT HOUSES AND PUBLIC HOUSING
19.Any builder, contractor or subcontractor engaged upon a project within the meaning of P.L.1996, c.62 (C.55:19-20 et al.), and any person, firm or authority managing or operating such a project, including the authority and its subsidiaries, shall pay the workmen employed in the construction, reconstruction, demolition, or rehabilitation thereof not less than the prevailing wage rate. The prevailing wage rate shall be determined by the Commissioner of Labor in all cases, except that the prevailing wage rate shall be determined by the Secretary of the United States Department of Labor in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act as amended (40 U.S.C. 276a to 276a-5), when the loan or other assistance given by the authority in connection with the work, or the funds of the authority or subsidiary
