Before entering upon his duties, the commissioner and each division director shall make and subscribe an oath, to be filed in the office of the Secretary of State, that he will faithfully, impartially and without fear, favor or prejudice discharge the duties of his office and carefully preserve all records, papers, writings, or property intrusted to him by virtue of his office, and make such disposition of them as may be required by law. The commissioner and each division director shall give bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duties. Each bond shall be approved by the Governor and shall be in an amount, fixed by the Governor, not exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00).
