48:3-33. Any person who is blind or deaf-blind, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "seeing-eye dog," any person who is deaf or hard of hearing, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "hearing ear dog," any person with a disability, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a "service dog," or any person who is blind or deaf-blind, deaf or hard of hearing, or with a disability accompanied by a service dog trained by a recognized training agency or school, when riding on any bus or other public utility, as defined in R.S. 48:2-13, engaged in transportation of passengers, may keep such animal in his or her immediate custody. The Board of Public Utilities shall prescribe rules and regulations concerning such custody. amended 1962, c.198, s.44; 2017, c.131, s.184.
