§ 48:3-107 — Program for certification of persons who install renewable energy devices in buildings; fee schedule; rules, regulations.

1. a. The Board of Public Utilities shall within 180 days of the enactment of this act, establish a program for the certification of persons who install Class I renewable energy devices in buildings. Participation in this program shall be voluntary. The board shall require applicants for certification pursuant to this section to comply with all applicable licensing and business permit requirements in the State of New Jersey. As used in this subsection, "Class I renewable energy devices" means any system, mechanism, or series of mechanisms that produce "Class I renewable energy," as that term is defined in section 3 of P.L.1999, c.23 (C.48:3-51), primarily to provide heating, cooling, or to produce electrical power. b. The board shall establish a fee schedule to cover the costs of the certification program established pursuant to this act. c. The board shall, pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), adopt rules and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this act.
