§ 48:12-1 — Application of chapter
New Jersey·Title 48 PUBLIC UTILITIES
The provisions of this chapter, except as otherwise herein restricted or unless the contrary appears from the context, shall apply to all railroad companies however formed, created or organized under any law of this State. Any company organized under the act entitled "An act to authorize the formation of railroad corporations and regulate the same," approved April 2, 1873 (L.1873, c. 413, p. 88), shall be included within the description in this chapter of companies organized under this Title. The provisions of this chapter so far as applicable shall extend to any receiver, trustee or person operating a railroad in this State under a franchise. Amended by L.1962, c. 198, s. 104.
