The director, in consultation with the committee, may issue a provisional license to any person who has received a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university acceptable to the Department of Higher Education and who presents bona fide proof that he was actively engaged in the practice of speech-language pathology or audiology or both, in this State for 3 of the last 5 years immediately preceding the enactment of this act, and who is working toward fulfilling the requirements for licensure as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist. Provisional licensees shall work only under the supervision of a licensed audiologist or speech-language pathologist who shall be responsible for the actions of the provisional licensee.
