The findings, decision and order of the Board of Arbitration shall, unless modified or reversed on appeal, be conclusive and binding upon all of the parties to the dispute and such order of such board shall be complied with by the parties in accordance with the terms thereof. The order of the Board of Arbitration shall remain in effect for a period of one year from the date thereof unless the board shall fix a lesser period therefor after having given due consideration to the duration of any prior contract between the public utility and the employees thereof, and any practice with respect to the duration of such contract existing in the same or similar industries. The Board of Arbitration may, in its discretion, with respect to any labor dispute existing at the effective date of this act,

The Board of Arbitration may, in its discretion, with respect to any labor dispute existing at the effective date of this act, provide that any award made by it shall be retroactive to the day of the return to work by the employees or, with respect to any labor dispute occurring after the effective date of this act, to the day of the taking of possession pursuant to the provisions of section thirteen of the act which this act supplements, or to the day of the return to work by the employees, or to the day of the termination of any contract between the public utility and its employees. Within thirty days after the Board of Arbitration has filed with the Governor such findings, decision and order, any party to the dispute aggrieved thereby may secure judicial review thereof by appeal therefrom to the Appellate Division of the Superior Court. A copy of the notice of appeal shall be served upon the chairman of the Board of Arbitration and upon the other party to the dispute or its attorney. In any such appeal the findings of the Board of Arbitration upon the facts, if supported by any evidence, shall be conclusive. The filing of such notice of appeal shall not supersede or stay the order of the Board of Arbitration unless the Appellate Division shall so direct. L.1947, c. 47, p. 163, s. 7.
