§ 18A:71A-28 — Transfer of functions, powers and duties of office of student assistance.

18A:71A-28. Transfer of Functions, Powers and Duties of Office of Student Assistance. a. The Office of Student Assistance in, but not of, the Department of the Treasury is abolished and all its functions, powers, duties and employees are transferred to the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority in, but not of, the Department of State. b. Whenever, in any law, rule, regulation, order, contract, document, judicial or administrative proceeding or otherwise, reference is made to the Office of Student Assistance or officers thereof in, but not of, the Department of the Treasury, the same shall mean and refer to the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority or the officers thereof in, but not of, the Department of State. c. Nothing in this act shall be construed to alter the terms and conditions, rights or remedies of any loan, grant or scholarship made by the Office of Student Assistance. d. This transfer shall be subject to the provisions of the "State Agency Transfer Act," P.L.1971, c.375 (C.52:14D-1 et seq.) L.1999,c.46,s.1.
