The center, where appropriate, and in consultation with the commission, shall: a. Research new food products and develop more efficient and economical food processing and related techniques; b. Coordinate personnel and other resources from the departments of food science, biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, plant physiology, horticulture, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and materials sciences at Rutgers, The State University in programs relating to the promotion of food technology research and industries; c.
