Text
Damages for land or other property taken for a highway, except in cases otherwise provided for, shall be paid by the town in which that part of the highway is for which the land or other property is taken, subject to such apportionment thereof among the towns in which the highway is as may be made by the county commissioners in case of petitions referred to them.
