If an application under this chapter is approved for a student with a disability, the board of
the student's school district of residence shall pay to the admitting district the costs incurred by
the admitting district in providing special education and related services to the student. The
superintendent of public instruction shall reimburse the student's school district of residence for
all excess costs, as defined in section 15.1-32-18.
