a.Notwithstanding section 15.1-21-02.6, if a student's cumulative grade point average as determined by the state board of higher education at the conclusion of a semester, quarter, or clock-hour term is below 2.75, the board shall grant an exception and provide the North Dakota scholarship to which the student would otherwise be entitled for the next semester, quarter, or clock-hour term in which the student is enrolled full time. The exception provided by this section is applicable to a student only one time.
b.If a student's cumulative grade point average as determined by the state board of higher education at the conclusion of a semester, quarter, or clock-hour term is below 2.75 for a second time, the student is no longer eligible to receive a North Dakota,
