The board of county commissioners shall determine the number and salaries of
administrative assistants for the county superintendent of schools and shall furnish a suitable
office for the county superintendent, together with all necessary equipment, furniture, and
supplies. If the board of county commissioners fails to do so, the county superintendent may
provide the same and the board of county commissioners shall audit and pay the reasonable
expenses so incurred.
