Text
1.The county superintendent of schools, with the approval of the board of county
commissioners, shall appoint residents, equal in number to the board of county
commissioners, to serve as a county committee for purposes of school district
annexations, dissolutions, and reorganizations.
2.The term of office for county committee members is three years, staggered so that one
term expires each year.
3.If a vacancy occurs, the county superintendent, with the approval of the board of
county commissioners, shall appoint an individual to serve for the unexpired portion of
the term. If a county committee member fails, refuses, or is unable to perform the
