16-1-205 . Local option. The electors of a county may, by approving an initiative as provided under 7-5-137 and Title 13, chapter 28, prohibit the sale and consumption of liquor or of all alcoholic beverages within the county. If the initiative is presented to the board of county commissioners, the board may not approve it but shall submit the proposal to the people as provided in 13-28-201 .
