Text

There is created in the department of economic development a "Missouri Women's Council" which shall consist of thirteen members.  Nine of the members shall be appointed by the governor, of which no more than five of the nine members may be of the same political party as the governor appointing such members, with the advice and consent of the senate, and shall be representative of a cross section of the citizenry.  Council members shall serve terms of four years, and may be reappointed.  The remaining four vacancies on the council shall be filled by the general assembly.  Two representatives and two senators shall be appointed by their respective bodies in the same manner as members of standing committees are appointed.  The council shall annually elect a chair and vice chair.  In the event
