Text

A. The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities shall appoint a selection committee consisting of two published poets from Louisiana, two professors of literature from a Louisiana college or university, two representatives of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and a representative from the Louisiana State University Press. B.

(1)The selection committee shall submit a list of three nominees to the governor for appointment to the position of Louisiana State Poet Laureate subject to Senate confirmation.
(2)No member of the selection committee may be nominated.
