§1133.15. Hazardous substance transportation emergencies; payment for emergency medical services The person or entity who in the course of transporting hazardous substances or materials causes or contributes to a discharge of a hazardous substance or material that causes an emergency condition shall be obligated to pay the reasonable costs of any emergency medical services provider whose presence or service, including standby, is requested at such hazardous substance emergency by any person authorized by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections or the Department of Environmental Quality to respond to a hazardous substance transportation emergency. Nothing in this Section shall affect the rights of any party to recover under any other provision of law.
