The board of directors of any such cemetery association deeming it advisable to transfer the control, management and maintenance of the cemetery and cemetery lands under its control and all of the property, assets, books and records of such association to a city and to dissolve such association may adopt a resolution to that effect and the secretary of said association shall cause such resolution and a notice of its adoption to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the county where the cemetery of such association is located once a week for two consecutive weeks.
