Text

(a)A board may establish a special schedule of fares applicable to the transportation of persons sixty-five (65) years of age or older. The schedule may provide for fares that approximate in cost not more than one-half (1/2) of the public transportation system's regular one-way fare for transportation on regular routes within the system's service area. The reduced rate may also apply to transfers and other special services but may not apply to charter service or any transportation provided outside the service area.
(b)A board acting under this section may require a method of identification to be presented by a passenger to qualify for a reduced fare. [Pre-Local Government Recodification Citation: 19-5-7.5-1 part.] As added by Acts 1981, P.L.309, SEC.78.
