§ 36-9-25-9 — Jurisdiction of board

The board shall manage and control all sewage
works of the district. The board has concurrent power with the works
board of the municipality to construct, reconstruct, maintain, repair,
and regulate the use of all connecting and intercepting sewers. The
board shall collect and remove garbage, ashes, and other waste
materials to prevent the pollution of watercourses within the district
and to protect the public health. The board may purchase, acquire,
construct, reconstruct, operate, repair, and maintain all sewage works.
