§ 36-9-25-33 — Disposition of surplus funds; funds belonging to sanitary districts

(a)All money remaining in a fund to the
credit of the board at the end of the calendar year belongs to the fund
for use by the board for the purposes for which the fund was created.
In addition, all money raised under this section shall be deposited at
interest with the depository of other public funds of the municipality,
with all interest collected on the fund belonging to the fund.
(b)Notwithstanding the provisions of any other statute, money
collected for or belonging to a sanitary district belongs to the sanitary
district, and not to any city or town in the sanitary district. This money
shall be deposited in an interest bearing account, and all interest earned
from this deposit shall belong to the sanitary district. If no statutory
