The legislative body of a town may by ordinance:

(1)abolish the office of town marshal; and
(2)establish a board of metropolitan police commissioners (referred to as "the board" in this chapter). [Pre-Local Government Recodification Citation: 19-1-25-1 part.] As added by Acts 1981, P.L.309, SEC.60. Amended by P.L.3-1987, SEC.567; P.L.101-1998, SEC.4.
