§ 36-8-5-4 — Military leaves; overtime to cover vacancies

The safety board and the police and fire chiefs may require members of the police and fire departments to work overtime to cover the vacancies created by members on temporary leave of absence under section 3 of this chapter. For overtime work the police officers and firefighters shall be compensated at a rate of pay not exceeding the amount that would have been paid the regular members had they not left for military service or been assigned to government war work.
