5.

(a)The appointing authority shall adopt standards for police officers establishing a physical agility test that:
(1)does not discriminate on the basis of sex;
(2)reflects the essential functions of the job; and
(3)at a minimum includes testing the following:
(A)Muscular strength.
(B)Muscular endurance.
(C)Cardiovascular endurance.
(D)Musculoskeletal flexibility.
(b)The appointing authority may also adopt standards for police officers establishing a general aptitude test.
(c)The standards required by this section must be presented to the law enforcement training board established under IC 5-2-1-3 for review.
