Text

(a)The appointing authority shall adopt standards for firefighters establishing a physical agility test that:
(1)does not discriminate on the basis of sex;
(2)reflects the essential functions of the job; and
(3)at a minimum includes testing the following:
(A)Fear of heights (acrophobia).
(B)Fear of confinement (claustrophobia).
(C)Muscular strength.
(D)Muscular endurance.
(E)Cardiovascular endurance.
(F)Musculoskeletal flexibility.
(b)The appointing authority shall also adopt standards for firefighters establishing a general aptitude test.
(c)The standards required by this section must be presented to the board of firefighting personnel standards and education established by IC 22-12-3-1 for review.
