Text

(a)If there is any available space in an executive training program course that has not been filled by fire chiefs who are required to attend the executive training program as provided in this chapter, the department may allow any of the following individuals to enroll in the executive training program until the course is full:
(1)A chief officer.
(2)Management level personnel.
(3)A volunteer fire chief.
(4)A volunteer chief officer.
(5)Volunteer management level personnel.
(b)A person who successfully completes the executive training program while serving in a capacity other than fire chief is deemed to have complied with the training requirements under this chapter if the person is subsequently appointed as fire chief.
