§ 36-8-10.6-3 — Executive training program for fire chiefs; requirements

(a) After January 1, 2022, a newly appointed
fire chief of a political subdivision must successfully complete the
executive training program within one (1) year of appointment unless:
(1) a course is not offered within the twelve (12) months after the
date that the fire chief initially takes office; or
(2) space in the program is not available at a time that will allow
the fire chief to complete the program within twelve (12) months
after the date that the fire chief initially takes office.
(b) If a fire chief is unable to successfully complete the executive
training program within one (1) year of appointment for any of the
reasons described in subsection (a), the fire chief must successfully
complete the next available executive training program that is
presented by the department.
