The purpose of the MPO is to institute and maintain a comprehensive planning and programming process for transportation policy and to assist the central Indiana regional development authority in carrying out its duties under IC 36-7.7. The MPO shall coordinate its activities with all member units in the counties and the member units of the central Indiana regional development authority and shall coordinate and assist the planning programs of member units, the central Indiana regional development authority, and the state that relate to its purposes.
