§ 36-7-4-803 — Bonds of contractors, engineers, and surveyors; enforcement of zoning or subdivision ordinance
(a)AREA─METRO. As an additional
means of insuring the enforcement of a zoning or subdivision
ordinance, a legislative body may adopt, as a part of either ordinance
or by separate ordinance, provisions requiring building contractors to
furnish an annual bond of one thousand dollars ($1,000). This bond is
to insure that if the construction does not comply with the zoning or
subdivision ordinance that it can be made to conform without cost to
the municipality, the county, or the person for whom the construction
was undertaken.
(b)METRO. An ordinance under subsection (a) may also require
professional engineers and land surveyors to furnish an annual bond of
one thousand dollars ($1,000) to insure that their plans and surveys
conform to the zoning or subdivision ordinance.
