§ 36-7-18-18 — Property management; acquisition, ownership, and disposition of property

Indiana·Title 36 LOCAL GOVERNMENT·Art. 7 PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT·Ch. 18 Housing Authorities

A housing authority may:

(1)lease or rent any land, buildings, structures, or facilities included in a housing project;
(2)fix the rentals or charges for property it rents or leases;
(3)own, hold, and improve real or personal property;
(4)acquire any interest in real or personal property in any manner, including the power of eminent domain;
(5)dispose of any interest in real or personal property in any manner;
(6)provide for the insurance of the property or operations of the authority against risks or hazards; and
(7)obtain from the federal government insurance or guarantees for the payment of any debts secured by mortgages on property included in a housing project, whether or not those debts were incurred by the authority. [Pre-Local Government Recodification Citations: 18-4-8-5 pa
