§ 36-12-2-15 — Library board serving district in certain counties; appointments

(a) This section applies to the library board
of a library district:
(1) located in a county having a population of more than
seventy-nine thousand (79,000) and less than eighty thousand
(80,000); and
(2) containing all or part of the territory of each school
corporation in the county.
(b) Notwithstanding section 9 of this chapter, the library board has
the following members:
(1) One (1) member appointed by the executive of the county in
which the library district is located and who is not a member of
the county executive.
(2) One (1) member appointed by the fiscal body of the county in
which the library district is located and who is not a member of
the county fiscal body.
(3) One (1) member appointed by the legislative body of the most
populous city in the library district and who is not a member of
the city legislative body.
(4) One (1) member appointed by the school board of each school
corporation having territory in the library district and who is not
a member of a governing body of a school corporation.
(c) An individual who is appointed under subsection (b) to serve as
a member of a library board must, before March 1 of each year, report
to the member's appointing authority concerning the work of the library
board and finances of the library during the preceding calendar year,
including the rate of taxation determined under IC 36-12-3-12.
