Text

(a)This section applies to the township having the largest population in the following counties:
(1)A county having a population of more than sixty-six thousand six hundred (66,600) and less than seventy thousand (70,000).
(2)A county having a population of more than three hundred thousand (300,000) and less than three hundred fifty thousand (350,000).
(b)Notwithstanding IC 36-10-7.5-5, the department of parks and recreation of a township described in subsection (a) consists of four (4) members appointed by the township executive on the basis of the members' interest in and knowledge of parks and recreation. The members of a board governed by this section may include any of the following:
(1)The township executive.
(2)One (1) or more members of the township board.
