The legislative body of a city may adopt an ordinance to create an authority under this chapter for the purpose of financing, acquiring, constructing, equipping, and leasing to the city in which the authority is created land and a building or buildings for civic purposes. Upon the adoption of the ordinance a separate municipal corporation known as the "_____________ Civic Center Building Authority" (including the name of the city) is created. The clerk of the city shall file a certified copy of the resolution with the judge of the circuit court of the county in which the authority is created. As added by Acts 1982, P.L.218, SEC.4.
