§ 36-10-10-10 — Board; powers

The board may finance and construct a building or buildings to be used as a convention center on land owned or leased by the authority and lease that land and building or buildings to the city in which the authority has been created. The board, acting in the name of the authority, also may:
(1)sue and be sued; however, all actions against the authority
shall be brought in the circuit or superior courts of the county in
which the authority is located;
(2)appropriate, purchase, lease, and hold any real property
needed or considered useful in connection with a convention
center constructed or to be constructed under this chapter;
(3)acquire by gift, devise, or bequest real and personal property
and hold, use, expend, or dispose of that property for the purposes
authorized by this chapter;
