Text
(a)This section applies to any individual
required to file a statement in accordance with section 5 of this chapter.
(b)If:
(1)the individual (or another individual acting on behalf of that
individual) fails to file the statement with the individual's
declaration of candidacy, petition of nomination, certificate of
nomination, consent to be a replacement candidate, certificate of
candidate selection, or declaration of intent to be a write-in
candidate, or following the individual's assumption of a vacant
elected office during the period described by section 5 of this
chapter; and
(2)notwithstanding the requirements of section 6 of this chapter,
the statement is accepted by the circuit court clerk;
the individual, if elected to an office or receiving an appointment pro
tempore to an off
