Text
A vacancy in a local office to be filled under this
chapter shall be filled for the unexpired term unless prohibited by the
Constitution of the State of Indiana. However, if it will not be necessary
to exercise the functions of the office before the expiration of the term
in which the vacancy exists or will occur, it is not necessary to fill the
vacancy.
