Text

(a)A town election board may appoint and at its pleasure remove deputy election commissioners. A deputy election commissioner appointed under this section must reside in the town of the election board that appointed the deputy commissioner. If a deputy election commissioner ceases to be a resident of the town of the election board that appointed the deputy election commissioner, the person may not continue to serve as a deputy election commissioner of the town.
(b)The county chairman of each major political party who appointed the chairman of that political party's town committee under IC 3-8-5-3 shall designate one-half (1/2) of the deputy commissioners.
